CRIME STOPPERS WANTED” for: June 16,  2017

The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating this person who is:

“WANTED BY POLICE”

Leighton Glen SAFRONIUK ( 27 years of age )

– Disguise with Intent

– Forcible Confinement

– Robbery while Armed with an Offensive Weapon

– Extortion

– Breach of Probation

 It is alleged that on May 8th, 2017, that the suspect Leighton Glen SAFRONIUK was part of a plot whereby a male victim was lured to an apartment building under the guise of female companionship. As the victim and two females made their way to the apartment, SAFRONIUK and another male suspect attacked the victim. The male suspects were dressed in black and both wearing balaclavas to cover their faces. SAFRONIUK was armed with a machete and forced the victim into the apartment where the male and female suspects then tied the ankles and wrists of the victim. The suspects then demanded that the victim give them his bank card and credit card which were used by the suspects to make cash withdrawals, cash transfers and store purchases. Several thousand dollars in cash was obtained by the suspects from the victim. It is also alleged that while be held captive, the suspects forced the victim to take drugs by forcibly injecting the substance into the arm of the victim. After several hours of being held against his will by the suspects, SAFRONIUK told the victim that if he gave him more money then he would let him go. The victim met this demand and was eventually released.                                                         

Attempts have been made by Police to locate Leighton Glen SAFRONIUK which have met with negative results and as a result a Warrant has been issued for his Arrest.
