John BALLANTYNE
FOR

Break Enter & Theft, Fail to Attend Court

On July 25, 2024, John BALLANTYNE broke into a property on Aberdeen Avenue and stole
several items from the residence. BALLANTYNE then proceeded to the garage where he stole a
GMC truck. Police later located the thief, who was arrested and released for the offences.
BALLANTYNE has failed to attend court and his whereabouts are unknown, therefore a warrant
of arrest has been issued for John BALLANTYNE.

CRIME OF THE WEEK, June 27th, 2025 |

The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a;

Shooting Investigation 

Brandon Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in relation to a shooting that occurred on the morning of Wednesday, June 25th, 2025. Investigators are seeking witnesses who may have seen or heard anything related to the incident or who may have relevant video footage. The area of interest is the 000 block of 26th Street, Alaska Bay, and 26th Street, between the hours of 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM. Within the incident a 33-year-old male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the left hip area. No fatalities occurred. 

Suspect One: Male, black jacket, grey hood on jacket and black hood over his head, black backpack, black pants, and black shoes.

Suspect Two: Male, black jacket, red hood, black pants, and white shoes.

Last seen westbound on Westaway Bay.

The Brandon Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a;

Arson

On May 12th, 2025, at approximately 4:50AM police responded to a reported fire in the 700 block of Princess Avenue. When police arrived, a dumpster fire was located that was extinguished. Surveillance cameras from the area captured a suspect who police need assistance identifying.

Fail to Comply with Probation X3

Alyssa SMOKE was released on a Probation Order with several conditions including to report to
her Probation Officer. SMOKE repeatedly failed to abide by her conditions and report to her
Probation Officer, therefore a warrant of arrest has been issued to Alyssa Smoke for Fail to
Comply with Probation Order and Fail to Attend Court.

Break Enter & Theft

On June 10th, 2025, it was reported two males were caught on video surveillance breaking into a locked compound in the 4800 block of Victoria Avenue East. The males then broke into 3 sheds and a utility trailer stealing a generator and construction tools.
